Remaking our broken politics

This week I was delighted to be interviewed by the new think tank CoVi as part of their flagship film ‘Politics: Fit for Purpose? Fit for the Common Good?’ along with Zac Goldsmith MP, Jesse Norman MP, Lord Ashdown and Chi Onwurah MP which you can view here.
In the video I highlight why the electorate is becoming increasingly disenchanted with the way that politics operates and how traditional allegiances to the left and right are now a thing of the past.
Following the crash and MPs’ expenses scandal, it has become clear that the old model of politics is broken. There is a deep sense of political frustration among the electorate. I argue that politicians of all stripes have to adapt to the post-crisis world, the rapid advances in technology and fashion a new politics fit for our age.
