Will you join me in the fight to protect Wymondham’s Green Belt, project our heritage and secure infrastructure?

As you know, Wymondham’s location and special heritage make it a highly attractive place for people to come and live. There is huge demand for new housing in and around our town. Whilst we need some new homes, and the investment in local amenities and infrastructure they bring, I’m passionate about making sure we don’t allow ‘urban sprawl’ and inappropriate development to ruin this town’s special identity.

With real vision and a high quality local Town Plan, I believe we CAN combine both the new homes and infrastructure we need over the next 20yrs with a high quality of life and landscape.

MPs don’t normally ‘do’ planning, but I believe this is such an important issue for Wymondham that I have decided to do what I can to try and ensure we get the Wymondham Town Plan right.

That’s why I have taken the unusual step of leading a series of campaigns on our Town Plan listed here below.

Please take a minute to look at these campaigns and email me to signal your support (and or any feedback on other issues you feel also need addressing).

Saving the Tiffey Valley: I was delighted to join local Residents and South Norfolk Council and campaign against the development of the Tiffey Valley, speak at the recent Planning Enquiry, and last week persuade the Secretary of State to ‘call in’ the decision on the ground of protecting this precious local amenity. Please do write in support of the campaign to prevent the building of houses on the Tiffey Valley by writing to the Minister:

Nick Boles MP, Department for Communities and Local Government, Elland House, Bressenden Place, London, SW1E 5DU or emailing him on nick.boles@communities.gsi.gov.uk

There is an on-line petition which I would be grateful if you would consider signing. (click here)
