Wymondham Train Station

For too long our area has been treated by some in Whitehall as a ‘rural backwater’, with a lack of investment in the vital transport infrastructure we need.

That’s why one of my central missions has been to secure investment in our roads and rail, and why I was delighted to meet with Abellio, Network Rail and the local South Norfolk Councillors at the Victorian train station at Wymondham recently.

I asked them to work with me to solve station access for those passengers needing ramp access, and make sure we have a modern, 21st-century station for all Norfolk residents.

With the A11 dualled in the last Parliament, and £300m secured for the dualling of the A47, a lot has already been achieved. But there is a lot more still to do. That’s why I will continue to fight to make sure we get the upgraded rail services our area needs.
