Further to the update I provided last week, I can confirm that I have indeed called for an urgent roundtable summit with stakeholders to discuss what needs to be done to overcome the latest “log jam” and accelerate progress on this key issue.

It is simply unacceptable that, after so many years, platform 2 remains inaccessible for many – particularly the disabled and those in wheelchairs, but also those pushing wheelchairs or even just trying to take a bike.

Having visited the station in person again this past week, and spoken to various key stakeholders in recent days, I am determined to do all I can to support the team at South Norfolk Council as they look to ensure all parties work proactively to resolve this as quickly as possible.

While all sides have helpfully reaffirmed their commitment to delivering improved access quickly, we need results. There cannot be endless delay.
