After much tireless campaigning by our local Save Our Coach Campaign, the National Express 727 service has been reinstated. This is very good news for Attleborough, and a tribute to what can be achieved when local residents, councillors and MP work together.

I am delighted that all the hard work of the local community, admirably coordinated by Elizabeth Dunn, has paid off and whilst I’m disappointed that this reinstated service will not include Wymondham, rest assured I will continue to campaign for this. The more people who use the Attleborough service the stronger our case for provision of further services to Wymondham becomes.

In rural areas like ours, access to bus and train services are vital for so many people who don’t have access to a car and I believe that for a sustainable development of our area we need to be investing in new and faster rail, bus and coach services, as well as using Innovative schemes like Liftshare (www.liftshare.com), the world’s leading lift share company, founded and based locally.

That’s why I will continue to lead my campaign for the upgrade of the Cambridge to Norwich Railway, Wymondham and Attleborough station improvements (click here for more information and to fill in my rail survey) and fight for local bus and coach services, so more people can experience the opportunities our area has to offer.
