I believe that Health and Safety in the workplace should not be seen as a distraction but should be viewed as investment by businesses looking to develop and motivate staff to compete for business locally, nationally and internationally.

That is why I officially opened new purpose built facility to train people in confined spaces at Britannia Training, based in Wymondham Business Park with over 50 business people attending.

The new unit is one of only a few in the region to be able to provide on-site training for working in confined spaces, asbestos awareness and non licensed work, working at heights, manual handling and emergency procedures.

Entrepreneurs like Mr Colin Wright, Britannia Training’s Managing Director, are essential in supporting business growth for many established organisations, as well as to motivate future entrepreneurs - showing that anything is possible if you aim high, Norfolk is a great place to start a business – the Eastern region could and should be seen as the California of the UK.

Developing youngsters from an early age should be a priority and will establish the next generation of local business owners with international inspirations.
