It was great to be at the opening of the new Jonas Webb Building yesterday with David Willetts at their Research Campus in Cambridge.

The new Jonas Webb Building is the latest phase of development following £44M investment from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) to deliver innovation from the research base, generate economic growth and create jobs. The building houses both laboratory and office facilities and is specifically designed to accommodate growing companies. We toured the laboratories of one of the organisations that will use the facility, Cancer Research Technology Limited (CRT), the cancer-focused technology development and commercialisation arm of Cancer Research UK.

The investment put in by the Government since 2010 - to Cambridge and the Norwich Research Parks – is key to laying the foundation for Norfolk’s innovation economy and the businesses, jobs and technologies of tomorrow for the next generation.
