Norfolk has a rich military history, and it is our duty to honour the great lives of those who have served our community and country so bravely. That’s why it was a huge pleasure to officially unveil the plaque to commemorate the extraordinary life of Field Marshall Ironside.

But none of it would have happened without the tireless and important work done by volunteers and staff at the Hingham History Group, the Hingham Society and District Councillor Bendle to ensure that proper recognition is given to heroes such as Lord Ironside, making sure our area has the chance to honour one of its great figures.
