Over 800,000 households in Norfolk are being urged to sign up for the Norfolk Big Energy Switch.

Five local authorities across Norfolk have got together to establish a dedicated Collective Energy Switching programme to get people to join together in a collective bulk-buying group to get cheaper gas and electricity tariffs.

Residents can sign up by visiting www.bigswitchandsave.co.uk from the comfort of their own home. Anyone can sign up to save but, there’s no obligation to go ahead. Once the auction is completed everybody will be informed of how much they could save. If it turns out you are one of the very few who are already on a lower tariff you simply don’t swap.

It is estimated that 61,000 homes across Norfolk are in fuel poverty, which means more than 10 per cent of income is spent on electricity and gas.

George supports this money saving initiative. He said: “For too long the cost of living continues to rise, locally based initiatives such as this are just what is needed to give people the best deals on the market and to assist with relieving fuel poverty in Norfolk.”

Norfolk Big Switch and Save is on – a new scheme saving people money on their energy bills, via a dedicated collective bulk buying group.
