The word ‘art’ comes from Sanskrit, meaning simply to make: it’s the making, and process, that keeps artist John Behm going.

John studied Drawing & Painting, Sculpture and Architectural Design in the US, and at the Edinburgh College of Art. He then pursued a diverse career within art and design over thirty-six years, with exhibitions and sales across Britain, the US, and Europe. John has had several public sculptures in Scotland and Norfolk, and work in public collections including the City of York, the National Museums of Scotland, “The House for an Art Lover” in Glasgow, and the Coldstream Museum; as well as being a published illustrator, and writer on art.

John has concentrated on painting in oils, carving stone and wood, and casting sculptures in bronze. He has 12 years’ experience teaching life-drawing and life-painting in schools and in weekly classes.
