George Freeman MP will be strongly supporting Richard Noble OBE and his team as they attempt to break the land speed record, while inspiring Norfolk, in a 1000mph Car called Bloodhound SSC.

Richard and his team will be bringing their innovative and exciting engineering endeavour to Norfolk this summer, to encourage and inspire the next generation of Norfolk scientists, mathematicians and engineers.

By running a series of hands-on workshops in Norwich, King’s Lynn, Wymondham and Great Yarmouth, the Bloodhound SSC Team hope to leave a legacy of Science and Technology engagement in Norfolk.

George Freeman MP, who is the Government Adviser on Life Sciences, welcomes this project as there is now a consensus that we need to inspire a generation of Scientists. Mr Freeman said:

“It is now clear that we need a new, and growing, generation of scientists, engineers and mathematicians to drive forward a sustainable, 21st Century economy. If the UK is to remain a world class base for science and innovation, we need today’s young people to engage in these essential skills. It is because of this I greatly welcome and support Richard and his team.”
