Raising the level of aspiration in our schools and boosting investment and skills is one of my central missions as a Member of Parliament. A crucial part of that is finding ways to engage young people with the joys of reading.

That’s why I was delighted to call into Wymondham High recently to support their attempt to beat the number of books swapped in a day in support of National Libraries Day.

I believe it is vital that Norfolk moves into the top half of the national education league tables, giving our youngsters a better chance in life.
