George calls for Norfolk Residents to sign up to Broadband Campaigns

George has today called on Mid Norfolk residents to sign up to two schemes that could help to bring better broadband to Norfolk.

George has previously asked for residents to take part in the East of England Development Agency’s (http://www.georgefreeman.co.uk/content/please-help-our-rural-broadband-campaign) which you can now sign up to via Shaping Norfolk’s Future (http://www.broadbandnorfolk.com/).

You can now also sign up to BT’s The Race to Infinity scheme here (http://www.racetoinfinity.bt.com/) to try and secure superfast fibre optic broadband for your area.

On these schemes, George said “Whilst I welcome any opportunity for enhancing broadband in Norfolk I have some reservations about whether these schemes effectively identify where there is demand for broadband.

“I am also concerned that Norfolk residents have to try and sign up to something that most of the country now considers normal, however these schemes are currently the best options available for Norfolk residents and I strongly encourage them to sign up and encourage their friends and neighbours to do the same”.
