Norfolk needs more entrepreneurs. People who start new businesses help boost the economy and increase local levels of employment. Having started my own business, I know how daunting it can seem first time. That’s why local initiatives such as Enterprise Norfolk are just what’s needed to help local entrepreneurs get started and for economic recovery at the local level.

That’s why I attended Enterprise Norfolk’s lunchtime workshop today. Enterprise Norfolk is a dedicated service to support new business start-ups, the service was launched last year during Global Entrepreneur Week. The service is led by Norfolk County Council, who have invested over £400,000 over two years with Norfolk’s District, Borough and City Council partners.

“I would like to congratulate Breckland Council and Norfolk County Council for the creation of this initiative which is both hugely important and timely given the state of the local and national economy. I know from my experience in running my own business how important this is and that practical help with the nuts and bolts of self employment is invaluable. Today I’ve met people that are learning practical skills and it is lovely to hear them congratulating Local Government for making a difference. I am delighted to offer the candidates some space on my website to showcase their new business and I will be sure to tweet about them and help them gain their first order.”
