2 Women every week are killed by a current or former partner.1 in every 3 women will experience domestic abuse in her life. Norfolk saw a 40% increase in domestic violence in the pandemic.
These are truly shocking statistics that really do need addressing urgently.
That’s why I was pleased to continue my work to help try and tackle this scourge in our society this past Friday – hosting another virtual roundtable with the Lord-Lieutenant, High Sheriff, Police and Crime Commissioner and local Daisy Programme to review our work to date.
Having previously written to the Lord Chancellor and had a helpful response from Minister of State for Justice Victoria Atkins MP, we are now looking at how we can step up our collective efforts to help try and bring these horrific statistics down.
