I have been championing awareness of this disease which will sadly affect many of us and our families.

That’s why I was delighted to take part in a series of events in my constituency to mark Dementia Awareness Week. We want Norfolk to become the first Dementia Friendly County in the UK.

In the morning I visited the inspirational Wymondham Dementia Cafe run by Trevor Brown and his amazing team of volunteers.

I later welcomed Laura Meadowcroft from Alzheimer’s UK to my office where she lead my team on an informative Dementia Friends Awareness course – meaning I have a Dementia Friendly Constituency Office!

In the afternoon I visited Dorrington House care home in Watton and later took part in a “Music for Health” session with the residents and Cllr Wassell, leader of Breckland Council.
