17 April 2018

I am delighted to be working in partnership with fellow MPs and the local Department for Work and Pensions on an exciting new campaign in the Breckland area.

Breckland for Jobs aims to reduce youth unemployment, and as a consequence add further value to our local economy, by connecting local businesses with young people aged between 18 and 24.

By offering these youngsters opportunities, such as mock interviews, CV advice or work experience, we hope to help give them the skills they need to thrive in the workplace. Julia Nix, DWP District Manager, and her team will also assist our youngsters to provide them any additional support they require to excel.

Ultimately, we hope that many of the local companies that engage with the scheme will consider whether they might be able to offer any of these young people a permanent job, apprenticeship or traineeship.

If YOUR business would be interested in attending the launch event this coming Friday (20th April 2018) to hear how you might be able to get involved, please do contact george.freeman.mp@parliament.uk and provide your contact details.
