Pubs are often at the very heart of our communities and rural heritage, playing a key role in keeping our villages and towns vibrant.
That’s why I am delighted to hear that The Ploughshare in Beeston has received a £25,000 grant from Power for Change – to help secure the long term future of the establishment.
As many will know, after a fantastic local campaign by the community, the pub was reopened as a Community Hub back in 2019. Going from strength to strength, the Coronavirus crisis then stopped the pub’s progress dead in its tracks.
In these difficult times for everyone, especially our pubs and local businesses, it is great to see good news stories like this. The money will go a long way for The Ploughshare, who are now back open and operating to strict social distancing guidelines.
