Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline

Water is such a precious resource that we tend to take for granted. We have lurched from very dry summers to sodden flooded winters in the last few years, which has affected our ability to manage our water resources effectively.

That’s why I was delighted to hear about, and be invited to, Anglian Water’s latest project to move water around East Anglia to where it is needed most in the form of the Strategic Pipeline. This project will run from Grimsby to Ipswich. The first section of pipeline to be commissioned into supply is a 12.5km length from Norwich to Wymondham, which starts near Little Melton - to the east of the Norwich Southern Bypass - and ends at the existing High Oak storage reservoir, near Wymondham.

I was delighted to be asked on a tour of the new facility and “Turn on the Tap”. The enthusiasm was very evident to see after talking to employees of Anglian Water, and how much this pipeline will move water to where it is needed most.
