As I have so often said, markets are so often at the centre of community life.

That’s why I have been working over the past year as part of a Taskforce with stallholders, Wymondham Town Council and South Norfolk Council to help breathe fresh life into the Wymondham Friday Market and attract new stalls.

I was delighted in July to receive an update on the great work that has been achieved since my visit to stallholders just before Christmas last year and our first meeting of the Taskforce in May. A series of new measures have been implemented that have seen the Friday Market reach nearly fully capacity and now ideas being explored to see what more can be done to enhance Friday Market Day for the town.

I will be receiving a further update at the end of this week, and I look forward to reporting back on the next stage of progress that is made.
