There are an abundance of exciting companies pioneering new, innovative technologies here in Mid Norfolk – and promoting them, as well as working to provide the conditions to help them thrive, has been one of my great passions since becoming an MP eight years ago. As a former owner of a small business, I know that local business and industry is the REAL engine of our county’s (and country’s) economy.

That’s why I was delighted to meet with Guy Ransom, the Commercial Director of Attleborough based Finn Geotherm, this past Friday to walk around Flagship Housing’s site at Orchard Close in Watton.

Finn Geotherm have installed a system that uses ground source heat pump technology to provide low cost, environmentally friendly heating at this affordable housing development – and, indeed, the scheme has already seen tenants’ energy bills fall by two thirds. (Carbon emissions from heating and water have been reduced by approximately 75% too).

I look forward to watching Finn Geotherm go from strength to strength.
