As I have long argued, Norfolk and the Eastern Region are in the midst of a fantastic opportunity to become a leading centre of science, technology and innovation. That’s why I have been a vocal champion of the Norwich Research Park, supporting its bids for investment and highlighting the great benefits its growth can provide/is already providing for Norwich and the surrounding area.

On Friday, I returned to the NRP again to meet with the Board of the Norwich Research Partners LLP to discuss the need for more urgency in using the millions of pounds of investment I and others have helped secure for the NRP to develop more commercial spin-out companies, further company investment and create many more jobs for local people. I was also given a tour around one of the spin-outs already based on the Park, Leaf Expression Systems, who are carrying out leading research in their field.

I look forward to continuing my support of the NRP in the years to come, and I am excited to see the jobs and investment that the NRP’s continuing growth can bring to Mid Norfolk, and our great county as a whole.
