Potholes - Update

I welcomed the news last month that Norfolk has been given an extra £3.5m by the Department of Transport for road repairs this year – in response to the affect that the harsh winter, and in particular the ‘Beast from the East’, has had on many of our roads.

Having now assessed which roads are in the most urgent need of repair, Norfolk County Council crews and contractors will begin work next week to fill in hundreds of potholes around the county. They will also embark on a surface-dressing scheme to extend the lifespan of many of our roads.

In addition, Highways England will be carrying out further works over the next six weeks to repair a number of trunk roads in our area. Of particular note is the additional work that will be done to fill in potholes on the A11 at Wymondham.
