21 March 2018

As part of my ongoing work to help towns and villages in Mid Norfolk create their own Neighbourhood Plans, I am delighted to promote the efforts of New Buckenham, as they look to develop such a plan for themselves.

It is vital that as many residents and businesses as possible take the time to contribute their views during the Neighbourhood Plan process, and I welcome the tireless effort of the New Buckenham Neighbourhood Plan Working Group as they go about consulting with the various groups that make up life in the village.

On Monday 26th March 2018 (between 7.30pm and 9.30pm), the NP4NB Team will be hosting their third focus group at New Buckenham Village Hall – this time concentrating on the businesses in and around the village, and how they would like to see their community develop over the next twenty years.

Having grown up in East Anglia, and been a former businessman and Business Minister, I know the key role that local businesses play in our rural economy – and I am thrilled that the Working Group are using Monday night’s event to not only inform the developing Neighbourhood Plan, but also to help get local businesses talking to each other and working together, and with bodies like the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce and the New Anglia Business Growth HUb, to explore opportunities that may be of benefit to them – whether that be funding, training courses or access to further networking events.
