Further to my meeting last month with local councillors and residents concerned about the proposed Orbit Homes application for 284 homes on land off Greenfields Road in Dereham, I held a second meeting this past Friday to discuss the matter in even greater depth.

The meeting, which was held at the Dereham Town Council offices, brought together local councillors, residents and representatives of Orbit Homes and allowed those present to address a number of outstanding issues – most notably, the community’s concern that the application will not provide the amount of Outdoor Playing Space required for a development of that size.

This continues to be an issue I am monitoring closely and I shall be following up with all parties in the second half of this week to establish if a satisfactory resolution can be achieved for the community ahead of the application being heard by Breckland’s Planning Committee this coming Monday.
