On Friday George visited the East Anglian Air Ambulance service to meet with emergency medics, doctors and helicopter pilots.

Together with Mr Geoffrey Van Orden MEP, George heard about the wide range of missions undertaken by this very special branch of the emergency services. Not only are there a wide variety of pick-ups from remote locations, rescuing people stranded on the coast and marshland in desperate need of fast treatment, but with Norfolk’s rural roads network they also cover 30% or road traffic accidents in the region.

Paid for entirely by voluntary contributions, this was an inspiring organisation showing real community spirit and responsibility.

An ongoing worry discussed with the crews is Duty on Heli Fuel. This is an issue George and Mr Geoffrey Van Orden MEP will be pursuing with the EAAA.
