On Friday George Freeman, MP for Mid Norfolk, attended a meeting of MDs and CEOs from Norfolk based businesses and charities hosted by Nelsonspirit. The event was held at The Great Hospital, Bishopgate, Norwich.

The brainchild of founder Nigel Cushion, Nelsonspirit meets six times a year for small business leaders to come together and develop their business and community leadership skills. Inspired by local hero Lord Nelson’s ‘engage enemy more closely’ signal, Nelsonspirit aims to get businesses helping themselves through helping others.

George Freeman said:

“I met Nigel at an event in support of The Norfolk Way Bursary, which I set up with local entrepreneurs, and was taken aback by Nelsonspirit’s commitment to improving business in our area. In rural regions such as our own it is easy to become isolated. Collaboration is a real strength in business and I am happy to see that here in Norfolk not only do we have a fleet of entrepreneurs, but seemingly a captain to steer us in the right direction together.”
