Ailwyn Hall – Care Home Visit

Care Homes play a key role in our society – a fact highlighted even more over the past two years of the pandemic.

That’s why I relished the chance to visit Ailwyn Hall Care Home in Honingham again this past Friday – to catch up with the team on all things social care and find out how they’ve been getting on as we move on from the incredibly difficult period that was Covid.

Having last visited this wonderful care home back in September 2019 (when they were officially opening their brand new wing – see more here), it was a pleasure to meet with Care Home Manager, Lucy Calcutt, again. The dedicated team at Ailwyn Hall have really gone above and beyond this past couple of years and I am proud of the tireless work they put in to caring for their residents.

Next week is Care Home Open Week (27th June – 3rd July) – an excellent programme delivered by the cross-sector Championing Social Care charitable initiative (more details of which can be found here) that shines a light on the incredible value of our social care sector, and the thousands of staff that work within it, supporting residents each and every day.

Hundreds of care homes across the UK will be taking part, opening their doors to local communities to give a glimpse of the inspiring work they do.

Please do take an hour or two to find out more about the quality care homes in your area. They do crucial, but often unseen, work for so many and they deserve our wholehearted support, especially as they recover from such an unprecedentedly difficult period.
