Local Fuel Shortages

As flagged on my website last week, I have been aware of local fuel shortages affecting parts of Norfolk over the last couple of weeks (particularly in and around Dereham) – and have highlighted the situation with Ministers and officials at the DfT and BEIS to establish what the root causes are and to ask that everything that can be done is done to alleviate the pressures currently being felt at the pumps.

Those conversations are very much ongoing and this morning I joined BBC Radio Norfolk’s Breakfast Show to discuss the situation in greater depth, including the hypocrisy of the eco-warriors causing chaos for local people, businesses and local services across our region.

360 were arrested last week (costing Essex Police alone c.£1 million)

I very much appreciate the considerable disruption this problem has caused for many of my constituents (especially those living in some of the more rural villages here in Mid Norfolk) and am informed that normal service will resume at the pumps quickly. In the meantime, I will continue to do all I can to speak up for my constituents to ensure that they are heard.
