For over three years I’ve been urging the Government to recognise that many people voted Brexit in disillusionment at a lack of economic fairness. Many areas - especially small town and rural communities have felt left behind by a London economy from which they don’t see the rewards.

I’m pleased that the Government has announced £1.6bn for “Left Behind Towns”. But - this must be the first step of a bigger programme of National Renewal following Brexit. The coastal and rural towns of Norfolk have deprivation too and deserve our fair share.
