The A47 is the strategic East-West trunk road linking Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Norwich, King’s Lynn, Wisbech and Peterborough. While I am very proud that we have managed to secure the £300 million required for the first phase of A47 dualling, it is imperative that we now get the rest dualled in order to improve safety and ensure that Norfolk has the 21st century transport system it deserves.

I was, therefore, delighted to co-chair the latest A47 Alliance Task Force this past Friday in Kings Lynn with West Norfolk Borough Council to ensure all phases of the upgrade are delivered.

I look forward to continuing to work with the Alliance on this important issue.
