Having spent fifteen years helping innovative new technology companies get off the ground in the Eastern region, one of my central missions since being elected as Member of Parliament for Mid Norfolk was to put Norfolk Innovation Economy on the map.

That’s why, as part of that ongoing campaign, I was delighted to meet with Alice Reeve, CEO of Hethel Innovation, and her team last Friday to discuss the exciting work taking place at the nearby Hethel Engineering Centre. Hethel continue to go from strength to strength; with increasing numbers of local jobs being created as businesses “spin out” and set up across Mid Norfolk, spreading growth and prosperity.

I truly believe we stand on the cusp of something special in our area, a once-in-a-generation chance to drive a new cycle of growth, investment and jobs – one that will improve the lives and prospects of so many here in Mid Norfolk, while transforming the habits and world much more widely too.
