A47 Rat-Running Taskforce

Having helped set up the South of the A47 Taskforce two years, I have supported their efforts to lobby Norfolk County Council Highways and National Highways officials for proper mitigation methods and support to alleviate the likely rat-running increases that would be seen during and after the dualling of the A47 between North Tuddenham and Easton, and again once the Norwich Western Link has been constructed.

That’s why I was delighted to be represented on the Taskforce’s latest meeting with NCC Highways earlier this week – to learn more about the mitigation package that is being developed with the communities that comprise the Taskforce.

A lot of excellent progress has been made over the past couple of years and, although their remains some more to do, I am optimistic that the proposals that will be put forward as part of the upcoming consultation process for the NWL will receive widespread local support.

Rest assured, I will continue to monitor this issue closely – and remain committed to supporting the Taskforce and others in the weeks and months ahead.
