Watton Post Office Update

30th October 2018

Further to my previous updates, I am pleased to have been informed by Post Office Ltd officials that following the temporary closure of the Watton Post Office that they plan to open a replacement branch in Edwards News on the High Street.

The Post Office is one of the beating hearts of market towns like Watton and it is reassuring that the replacement branch will be in a popular location and that the consultation is already underway.

However, I recognise the considerable concerns in the town that the new Post Office branch may not be open in time for Christmas. With this in mind and the festive season fast approaching, I will be seeking assurances from Post Office Ltd that there will be a proper postal service in the town through the Christmas period and I have written to their officials today.

A full copy of my letter to Post Office Ltd can be found below.

I hope to provide a further update in due course.
