Watton High Street

4th December 2018

Having spent fifteen years helping small businesses get off the ground before coming to Parliament, and having previously served as a Business Minister for two years, I am a passionate supporter of Small Business. It is the true engine of our local, and national, economy.

That’s why, last weekend, I got behind the Small Business Saturday initiative – and why I took the time to visit Watton High Street and visit some of the local businesses based there, with Watton Town Mayor, Tina Kiddell.

It was great to meet a number of thriving small businesses, including family-run company Adcocks – who specialise in appliances and electricals. I also chose the Carson & Draper antique shop as my nominated small business for the day. (To learn more about the business, please do see the video I filmed with them below, and several pictures of the gems they have on offer)

There are many gems in our part of Norfolk, often hidden away, and it's important that we all take the time to support them. If we don’t, we risk losing them forever.
