A revolution in healthcare

Getting access to the right medicines can save your life. But at the moment, too many people can’t get access to the drugs they need.
That’s why I was delighted to speak at the recent Empower: Access to Medicines event in Parliament who have campaigned for patients to get access to life-saving treatments quicker.
Having recently helped design and launch the Early Access to Innovative Medicines scheme, this is an area I feel passionately about.
Ultimately, Empower, the Saatchi Bill and the Patients4Data movement I have founded are all part of the same revolution in healthcare where we move from a 20th-century model (something done to us by Government) to a 21st-century model (something we take a responsibility for ourselves).
A new generation of enlightened patients are demanding better treatment, quicker access to life-saving drugs and access to their own medical data.
Patients have been patient for too long. A revolution in healthcare is coming. We should embrace it.
