NCC Bus Consultation

5th January 2018

In recent weeks I have received considerable correspondence from local councillors and constituents concerned about the possibility of Norfolk County Council reducing funding for bus and community transport services which they currently support.

Particular concern surrounds the KonectBus 4 service from Swanton Morley to Norwich (via Dereham, numerous villages and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital) and the bus service taking youngsters along the B1077 between Great Ellingham and Attleborough Academy – and, as a result, I took the time to formally write to Norfolk County Council about both services, asking that my views, as well as those of my constituents, be given full and serious consideration in the recent consultation process (see below).

Given the largely rural nature of our area, it is vital that those transport services which are depended on by some of our most vulnerable and isolated constituents are protected.
