Highways England Parliamentary Forum

16th May 2018

One of my central missions since becoming an MP back in 2010 has been the improvement of our transport infrastructure here in Mid Norfolk, along with the wider county as a whole. Only with a transport network fit for the 21st century can our great county fulfil its true economic potential.

That’s why, yesterday, I and several of my fellow MPs attended the Highways England East of England Parliamentary Forum in Westminster to meet with senior officials and continue to highlight the ongoing A47 Alliance and EDP ‘Just Dual It!’ campaign. Together, we stressed the importance of achieving full dualling of the A47 (from Lowestoft in the East all the way to the A1 in Cambridgeshire in the West) and the huge benefits that such dualling would deliver for the Eastern Region.

Rest assured, I am firmly committed to driving forward this campaign with my parliamentary colleagues in the weeks and months ahead.
