A47/A11 Thickthorn Junction

23rd May 2019

One of my central missions since becoming Mid Norfolk’s MP back in 2010 has been the improvement of our transport infrastructure here in the East. Only with a transport network fit for the 21st century can our great county fulfil its true economic potential.

That’s why I have been continuing to work closely with a number of relevant parties including Ministers, the A47 Alliance/‘Just Dual It’ campaign as well as with Highways England.

Highways England held several consultation events during spring 2017 where they gave the public the opportunity to hear about and share their views on the A47/A11 Thickthorn Junction Improvements scheme – of which the preferred route announcement was made in August 2017.

Highways England have continued to develop more detailed designs and the statutory consultation for the A47/A11 Thickthorn Junction Improvements is planned to start on Monday 3 June  2019 and run until Thursday 11 July 2019.

During the consultation, Highways England will be holding four public events for local communities and interested parties. The dates of these public events are in the table below. Do go along to find out more and to put forward your views and have your say.
