Further to my previous updates (which can be found here, here and here), I am pleased to report that a local retailer has been appointed as the new postmaster for Watton.

Post Office Ltd have informed me that the next step is for a four-week customer engagement consultation to take place – to confirm that there are no widespread objections to the plans to restore a permanent Post Office in the town at this existing retailer – and that details of this will be provided shortly.

Of course, as I have often said, a town of Watton’s size, with further growth to come, absolutely needs a permanent branch of the Post Office to cater for its population. This news, therefore, is a real positive for the town – and I remain committed to following progress so as to ensure that this gets over the line.
