Ely North Junction - Update

Unlocking the true economic potential of Norfolk (and the East), and ensuring that commuters have the rail services they need to travel and get to work, have been two of my key missions since becoming an MP back in 2010.

That’s why I have been working hard with other Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire MPs to secure the necessary funding for improvements to Ely North Rail Junction, and bring about these essential works as soon as possible.

By improving the Ely North Junction, more trains will be able to run between Norwich and Cambridge, as well as King’s Lynn and London, much more frequently – bringing benefits to businesses and commuters across Norfolk.

On Friday, I will be attending a rail summit in Ely with fellows MPs, the mayor for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and the likes of Stansted Airport for a progress report on the ongoing campaign – and to discuss how we continue to push it on.

I look forward to providing a further update once the summit has taken place.
