Sport is a massive part of any thriving community and so I am delighted to hear that a grant of £394,292 has been given to South Norfolk Council by The Premier League and FA Facilities Fund.

Some of the money will go towards the £1.2 million improvement project for Kett’s Park in Wymondham, which will see a new facility with a full size, floodlit, fenced all weather 3G facility constructed. There will also be spectator viewing attached to the existing sports community pavillion and changing rooms.

The rest of the money will then be used to improve Kett’s Park grass pitch complex, along with a number of other grass pitches in the town and surrounding area, which are often waterlogged at times of bad weather.

These measures will ensure that the community has access to football facilities all year round, and reduce the number of games lost to poor weather – and I look forward to seeing the facilities in use.
