Planning – Great Ellingham

I have long argued that when new development is to be permitted in our rural towns and villages, it must be sustainable, and accompanied by the necessary infrastructure required to support both it, and the pre-existing community.

That’s why, at the request of the two district councillors for All Saints and Wayland Ward, as well as the three Parish Councils of Great Ellingham, Little Ellingham and Rocklands, I helped to convene a meeting to discuss the likely impact of the future development planned in Great Ellingham – and, to a lesser extent, in Little Ellingham and Rocklands.

Representatives of Norfolk County Council, Breckland District Council and a number of local developers attended the meeting, and together we all discussed the effect that more housing will have on matters such as Highways and local Education.

I look forward to continuing to work with the three villages on these matters going forward, and I shall be in Rocklands in a few weeks’ time to discuss a number of issues at the top of the community’s list of priorities there.
