We all know that with the twin pressures of an ageing population coupled with constrained public finances, our public services are under pressure.

That’s why I make a point of meeting up with those on the frontline of all public services and I was very pleased to recently meet with Norfolk’s Chief Fire Officer, David Ashworth.

Recruitment of more permanent and retained fire fighters, male and female, is key to developing the efficient of a diverse, modern Fire Service, and I’ll be helping the Fire Service highlight this exciting opportunity.
