27 September 2016

Long before localism became fashionable, I started one of the first localist think tanks in the UK. I have always believed that good politics starts from the grassroots, which is why I launched my campaign to represent our area almost a decade ago with the promise It Starts Here!

Whether it is questions over planning, infrastructure or council tax, I believe the voices of local residents should be heard loud and clear. That’s why I am pleased to hear that residents and businesses in Breckland can have their say on the all-important Local Plan Consultation.

“Once adopted in 2017, the new Local Plan will set out the policies used to determine planning applications and will allocate the sites to meet the housing, retail and employment requirements until 2036. It will also identify a five-year supply of housing land which will give the Council more control of the location of new housing and will reduce the likelihood of ad-hoc development.”

You can access the Plan here  - click on the left hand side to see the plans for your village/town.
