One of my key missions since becoming the MP for Mid Norfolk has been supporting our local town and village pubs – which play such a key role at the heart of our communities and rural heritage.

That’s why, having supported the Gressenhall community’s efforts to ‘Save the Swan’ and transform the village pub into a community asset, I am so pleased to hear of the White Swan’s latest initiative.

In collaboration with the Pub is the Hub not-for-profit organisation that helps pubs to diversify and provide essential local services, the White Swan team have refurbished of one of their outbuildings to create The Stables – a multifunctional community space that can be used as café, pop up cinema, meeting room for local groups with the aim of being able to serve takeaways from there in the near future.

The facility really is designed to cater for all demographics and is another fantastic example of a local service, and local residents and businesses, going above and beyond to cater for their community.

I look forward to visiting in the not too distant future.
