Reclaim the Rain – Update

Flooding in Mid Norfolk remains a serious problem for too many households in our towns and rural communities – and that’s why I continue to work hard with local councillors and community groups to do all I can to support them.

As part of that ongoing work, I welcomed the opportunity to throw my support behind Watton’s bid to the ‘Reclaim the Rain’ project – an initiative being led by Norfolk and Suffolk County Council’s to test new ways of reducing flooding in rural locations and develop innovative ways of saving water.

I was delighted therefore that the Watton bid, in conjunction with Merton and adjacent to another successful bid for Thompson, has been awarded a share of the £6.4 million fund – which I have no doubt will deliver positive and lasting benefits for residents and businesses in the town.
