Norfolk Farming Conference 2019

“How Innovation Can Help UK Agriculture Prosper Pro-Brexit?” That was the key question I discussed at yesterday’s Norfolk Farming Conference 2019 – at the outstanding John Innes Centre in Norwich.

Having grown up in East Anglia from a farming background, worked for the NFU and been the Minister for Life Sciences (helping to spearhead the UK’s new Agri-Tech strategy in 2015), I know first-hand how vitally important Farming is to the UK, and how new technologies and opportunities are transforming, and have further potential to transform, the industry going forward.

Norfolk has the chance to be at the heart of this new Green Revolution, and I am determined to support our local farming community, as well as the great work being carried out by scientists at the Norwich Research Park and the engineers at the Hethel Engineering Centre, to ensure that the new jobs and prosperity that will accompany this Revolution will be of benefit to those living and working in Mid Norfolk.
