George Freeman hosts Chinese delegation in Westminster Palace
22nd May 2012
Yesterday I had the pleasure of hosting a truly world class delegation of Chinese automotive industry representatives in Westminster Palace. This was my first encounter with a Chinese delegation and interpreter, and it was a real pleasure to represent Norfolk to this group of automotive business tycoons. I greeted the delegation of businessmen, who are keen to invest in UK research and development facilities, following their visit to Hethel Engineering Park in Norfolk. This visit is a great tribute to the engineering excellence that Norfolk and wider innovation cluster has to offer. The group plans to make open a research and development centre in the UK, and were attracted by Norfolk’s impressive countryside and agriculture, complemented by its ever-increasing strength as a technological hub. It was real honour to host this group of business leaders, and fantastic to see companies from the emerging markets viewing Norfolk as a potential investment for its innovation work.
