George Freeman debates Future of Farming at Royal Norfolk Show
28th June 2012
Today I had the pleasure of attending the Royal Norfolk Show and taking part in an interesting discussion with NFU President Peter Kendall. The Show was really great fun and offered everyone the opportunity to experience what Norfolk has to offer – from music and entertainment to food, agriculture and fashion.
The visit also gave me the great opportunity to have an on-stage discussion with NFU President Peter Kendall on the future of farming. I highlighted the need for well-capitalised progressive agriculture which uses sustainable techniques, and as Peter pointed out, we need an agriculture industry here in the UK which backs our leading position in bio-science.
